American actor Alexandra Hetherington Breckenridge. She began her career by playing supporting roles in the teenage comedy films Big Fat Liar (2002) and She's the Man (2006). Later, she played reporter Willa McPherson on the FX series Dirt and also played a minor role in the short-lived drama The Ex List. She was the lead character of Moira O'Hara during the initial season of FX's American Horror Story, and she played Kaylee in the season's third. She played Jessie Anderson in the AMC series The Walking Dead and Sophie in the NBC series This Is Us. She is also the voice of several characters from the comedy show Family Guy. Since 2019she has been appearing in the role of Melinda "Mel" Monroe in the Netflix series Virgin River. Breckenridge was born in Darien in Connecticut. She relocated to California with her mother when she was of 10. They went through a few different places for a year before they finally settled in Mill Valley. Breckenridge began to be interested in acting, singing, and photography at 13. She relocated to Los Angeles with her mother when she was just 15 years old to pursue her acting career.
